Notification area icons missing

I found the fix for this problem by deleting "iconstream" entries from the Registery using regedit. After removing them I rebooted the PC. The two icons Network and sound were missing again. So the fix did not work. At least now when I go into the notification area, the options are not dimmed out.
Does anyone have another fix?
