Hi all,
speaker symbol in the task bar shows a red "x", no sound.
Hereīs my story:
got a DELL XPS M1530 with pre-installed Vista Home Premium, everything was working fine.
Last week installed a USB audio device TASCAM US-122L and Steinberg CuBase LE4 to record old LPs into the Laptop. Worked for a couple of days, then when I recorded an Elvis LP(I donīt think it happened because if this

) and saved one song (export as .wav) and tried to start the .wav via Explorer, I got a blue screen and a reboot. Since then Iīm in trouble. No sound anymore.
Soundchip is a SigmaTel.
Uninstalled the drivers, reinstalled drivers (3 different versions from DELL support), let Vista install itīs own drivers - no success.
Unfortunately Iīm not able to say which audio driver version was installed before the "crash".
When running the DELL test utilities sound works fine, so I think itīs a Vista thing, not the driver itself....
Any help appreciated very much!!!
As a musician not having sound on your laptop is like being deaf
TIA
Cheers
Tom
