Upgrade Vista

Hallo,
I am running Vista home Basic on a HP compaq presario Laptop. Now I bought an upgrade to home premium.
When running the upgrade it will start copying the files and expanding them but after about 30% of the expanding I get the massage that the upgrade was not able to prepeare to reboot for the next stage of the instal (Clean instal).
Any ideas how I can make it run??
