NTOSKRNL.exe outbound activity

I'm new to vista and SystemSuite9 AV/AS & Firewall program. So, I'm not sure which of them this situation applies to...I have a LOT of in and outbound activity in the SS9 traffic log.Most is from NTOSKRNL.exe.
I've read this is part of the boot system but that it an also be used by hackers.

I also don't know how to put my ports in "Stealth" mode.

Any suggestions? Or advice.

My main question is this: should NTOSKRNL.exe be sending or receiving information on my system?
