Vista search not finding files
Vista search is finding some files but not others in my "Documents" folder.
To illustrate:
I just searched for "kippur" in the search box (upper right corner) while viewing randydaw-documents-sermclas-ministry-articles-futurearticles. A file named "yom kippur.doc" (MS Office 2000) exists in that folder, and contains the word "kippur." Nothing was found.
I then created a new MS Office 2007 file in the same folder called "new yom kippur.docx" including the word "kippur" and it was immediately found.
I then saved the newly created file as a MS Office 2003 file with the same name but different extension (new yom kippur.doc) and it was NOT found.
I checked the index file types, and both ".doc" and ".docx" were included in the default file types.
A reliable search function is imperative to my work as a minister. Can anyone help me track down the problem?
PS I am also trying to figure out how to relocate my "documents" folder to C:\My Documents for compatibility with previous backups. Is that possible under Vista? I am the only user.
