Syncing fast!!!!!!!

I am trying to sync my blackjack phone to Vista. I have downloaded Windows Mobile Device Center 6.1. I plug the phone into the computer and I hear it connect, but it does not show connected in the WMDC window. It shows: NOT CONNECTED. I have tried everything. I have turned off the Firewalls etc. Help!
