control speed saver screen on vista

Hi ,
I have a new computer with windows vista and i have set my screen saver as "photos" which I have as my study notes. This is what I have done in the past to study and it has worked great and I have both hands free to do other stuff. The only problem is, with this computer screen saver it only lets me set the speed to "slow medium or fast" and even with the slow speed on, the screen saver changes too fast for me to read even two sentences of my notes. Is there any program anyone knows that I can download that will let me customize the speed my screensaver chages photos at? I tried using slide show on Windown Photo gallery and it also has the same speeds of slow medium and fast. Is there a photo program that lets you custimize speeds I can download?
Any help would be appreciated.
