USB Device "Not Recognized"

Even after a reinstall of Vista Home Basic on a Toshiba Satellite A135-S2396 any USB devices give an unknown device error, after the reinstall only one device has been tried, a Corsair 2GB Flash Drive. Looks like many folks have run into this but I haven't found any direct resolution, open to anything right now, thanks!

Sadly the first didn't work and the second fix the OS said "This update does not apply to your system."

Hi Iamthebull,

please can you post some entries from your Event Viewer that happen around the time that you plug in your USB device.

Please see Windows Vista Event Viewer on how to do this,
