Ftp in windows explorer issue.

Hi. I have been using windows explorer in XP to access ftp site for a long time and whenever I clicked on a file it would open in a default program (document file would open in ms word, excell file in ms excell, etc, etc...).
Now in Vista after I click on a file not only I get a prompt to re-enter the password, even if I already authenticated to the ftp server, but also a file does not open in a default program (web browser is trying to open it!). Any settings I could change so I don't have to re-enter password and make a file open in it's default program?

Hi gmg,

try adding the site to your Trusted Sites in Internet Explorer.... Tools -> Internet Options -> Security Tab

This might help it remember the password.

Download the file to a folder. Then Right Click on the file and select Open With from the menu and select the program that the file normally open up with. Tick the box that says "always open...."
