Drag to burn files to CD doesn't work
I just upgraded my Sony Vaio from XP Pro to Vista Business. The CD no longer burns by dragging files to the CD icon or window. When I drag a file to the CD window I get the ghostbusters circle with a line through it. The Burn button also does nothing.
I tried burning files to CD under cmd window using xcopy and it works fine so it is a shell issue vs. anything to do with the drive or media.
I have seen others with this issue by Googling the problem, but no solutions to it.
Can anybody out there please help me to get this resolved?
More info: files on the CD RW drive can be read, but it can't write. Vista thinks it's a ROM drive vs. RW. When I try to burn in other Windows applications I get the error message that no drive capable of burning is present. This sounds like a Vista driver issue. Does any one know where I can get a Vista driver for the Mat****a UJ-832D CD/DVD RW drive that came with my VAIO VGN-TX650P. Sony Support is abolutely USELESS.
