File order in explorer

Does anyone know a good app or addon or something to show true file order, and hopefully allow reordering?

I want to be able to copy a folder structure to a portable device that has no sorting ability. I'd rather not number them since I like to add and remove things and I don't want to have to renumber again.

Vista has a lot of options for details in files, many things which most users will never use, I'm hoping someone came up with a little code to add 'show true order' so you can sort and then copy in that order......
