G'Day : Had a good look around and it seems quite a few people are having the same problem, has to do with missing or corrupt files, (??) but with no indication as to which files, could find no solution so far,
May I suggest backing up to a disc instead, it's a simple thing to reload your OS if you have a major disaster and if all your files are on disc then all is well, but if you backup to your HDD and have a major then all is lost.
I have found the most convenient thing to do is :-
Using DVD-RW, insert disc in drive and close any dialog windows, >> computer >> dvd/cd drive>> Double left click >> add title >> next >> yes to any windows that open, this will format the disc to act as a flash drive, you can then add to / edit / or copy from when ever you like, just insert the disc and open with the auto run dialog window, simple system, one disc for major headings, can be used on any PC.
Hope this helps
