Skipping problem solved!
i have had a problem with sound skipping or distorting since i got my pc about 3 months ago. after trawling countless forums and updating all the recommended drivers- sound card, motherboard etc. i still had the problem. i then discovered someone with exactly the same problem. turns outythey had the same network adapter as me- linksys WUSB300N apparently they are not vista compatible straight out of the box as they claim. i did a simple test- i unplugged it and then played a few MP3s - every one worked perfectly! having found the problem i needed a solution, which was simply to visit the linksys website and download the latest driver for vista. i dont know if this issue is restricted to my particular model, but apparently some belkin adapters can cause the same problem. this may not be the cause and solution to everyones sound problems but i'll bet there are a lot of people frustrated as to why nothing they do seems to work when all along they have been (understandably) looking in the wrong place! hope this helps
