Did you install these programs with administrative credentials? If not, then you need to reinstall them. Right click the setup file (you will need to browse the disc for this) and select 'Run as administrator'. After providing the necessary credentials, the program will begin installing. Hopefully, this time your fonts will be registered. This is because certain areas of the registry can only be modified by a process running with administrative privileges. Even if you are an administrator, you are running with standard privileges unless you elevate yourself to the higher level. This is a good reason why it is not advisable to disable the UAC prompting system as people suggest on the numerous forums about Vista.
