How can I get battery indicator to give hh:mm time estimate?
I've noticed that my task bar battery icon will only show me the percentage of power left in my battery, but will not give me a remaining time estimate. Another friend of mine has Vista and his computer displays the hh:mm estimate automatically, and did so right out of the box. I've tried exploring all the battery related settings that I could find, but it's mostly just modifying power plans and I can't seem to find what I want.

Any ideas?

I'm running Vista Home Premium on a HP laptop.

Hi rachaelwd,

That depends on the actual driver installed for YOUR hardware. Laptop manufacturers choose to display the remaining battery life in different ways depending on the hardware and driver installed. Some choose to estimate the time remaining and some give a percentage of charge left. It is possible that some manufacturers provide both methods, but the percentage is probably the more reliable.
