Restoring backup to XP
Back Story:
Laptop with Vista Pro died, fatal meltdown, kaput. Dog yanked it off the table one too many times; HD failed, MB failed (poss. onboard video). Upside, I backed up my HD onto an external drive just the week prior.
Having other priorities for my money, I'm using an old desktop running XP. Would like to recover my documents: photos, etc. Can't figure out how to restore the files onto the desktop without individually unzipping all 140 zip files, many of which have useless system and program files from my laptop that I don't want/can't use on my desktop.
