Menu to sub-menu drop down should stay open?

Can any one help with this following problem?

When I use the mouse to point to the menu bar (eg. File/Edit/View/Favorites/Tools/Help ... etc.), normally the Sub Menu (Eg. point to File:
submenu on would have:
- New tab
- New Window
- Open
- Save
- Save as .... etc.

The sub-menu normally stays open, now it is just "clear / transparent" without ANY choices, UNLESS, I glide down the mouse pointer, then each sub-menu items would then appear, one at a time.)

This is the case when I'm using World, Excel, Quicken an IE 7.

I don't seem to be having this problem when using Outlook. All the menu/sub menu/commands are displayed all at once as a scroll the mouse side to side or a click and the entire drop-down list to choose from.

Any advice would be appreciated!!

Hi, what display card are you running, The apps discussed uses advanced windows graphics in turn using you graphics driver, try updating to newer drivers, if fails, remove drivers and reinstall. 2. Turn off Advanced display - RC My Comp, properties, advanced, performance. Select radio button best performance. If this works we can work From there.
