In your case however, I think there is a quicker way. go to your desktop, right click an empty area, choose personalize, then display settings, then advanced. You should see the driver version there.
By the way, if you're using an eVGA card, I notice their site releases the beta drivers earlier than Nvidia. If you don't mind beta, you can check their site out to see if they have a newer driver.
