Can not delete the Documents Folder
Hi,

I have a strange glitch. In my Documents folder, I can not hide the hidden folders even after going to Tools - View -and selecting - Do Not Show Hidden Files and Folders. I cut and pasted all of my documents into a new folder I call My Stuff and I do not have this problem. This is really not an acceptable fix because I want my files in the documents folder where they are suppose to be for other programs to access. I tried deleting the documents folder and renaming the My Stuff folder but the documents folder can not be deleted.
Any Ideas out there?
Thanks,
Bill

You can never delete the documents folder. I'm not exactly sure if this might help but you can have the Documents folder migrate. Just right click it and choose properties. Then click on the locations tab and it will migrate there.

The real problem.
Thanks for the reply. Deleting the Documents folder was all I could think of to try.

The real problem is that I can not hide folders in the Documents Folder. Even when I select Hide Hidden Folders and Files, temporary files like saved word docs -$word and other tmp. files.

Thank You,
Bill J.

I'm making this post only to tell you that I am stuck so you don't keep on waiting for my response =(. If you are really desperate you can try making your folders invisible with this link:
Make your folders and icons invisible | Vista Rewired

There have been some cases where users cannot delete the folders / files later... so I would suggest this tip as a last resort.

Maybe you should keep those files in places other than Documents

Thanks for trying
I guess I will have to keep my files in a different folder other than documents. I did show this glitch to a friend who has very good knowledge and we tried a few things but we could not fix this.

Thank You,
Bill J.
