Vista Shutting Down at Log On

After installing AVG Anti-Virus and Ada-Ware cannot start Vista. It 'Boots' to Log On Screen momentarily then closes machine down.

Even attempting 'Safe Boot' gives sames symptoms

Any suggestions ?

I'm not too clear on what to do but I suggest you try repairing Vista by inserting your CD. There should be a repair option.
