takes a long time to open some sites
Hi guys,

i bought a laptop that had Vista Home basic installed (was the last laptop and i couldnt option "up" to XP)
now my problem is, that when i open a website that requires me to log in ie: ebay, my bank website, my webmail etc, it takes atleast 3-5 minutes before it opens up the page. i am on 1500k broadband, so its not my connection, as my desktop loads everything fine.

i had norton firewall installed, and i took that off but it still takes me ages to load up a site

any help is appreciated

Hi castek,

in IE7 goto Tools-Internet Options , then go to the Advanced tab.

Near the bottom right hand side you will see a button with Reset.

Click this and it will repair IE7 for you and hopefully the sites will load up faster,

regards

Steve

Hi castek,

lets try and rebuild your TCP/IP...

Open a command Prompt by right clicking on the Prompt icon and select Run As Administrator..

then enter the following command...
Quote:
netsh int ip reset c:\tcpreb.txt
if there are any errors they will be in c:\tcpreb.txt

regards

Steve

Hmmm... I think it's because you're using IE! No seriously, maybe it's just something about the browser. I suggest you try a more robust and hasslefree browser: Firefox web browser | Faster, more secure, & customizable
