Hiya....i do not actually have Vista myself...my mother does...i came home from work today and she said it was "not working" ...don't know how/why/what/when...the pc when i looked at it...was rebooting....now im not too big up on pcs!!!
I dont know what to do...the shops will charge her a fortune...she said she got nothing with it...no discs what so ever..i downloaded a "windows vista recovery" thing to disc...but to be honest...i dont have a clue WHAT to do!! i have never rebooted a pc in my life!!
Any advice?? please!!

Hi ellenoh2008,

I think it has gone out in sympathy with Ted Holland...he he..

No, seriously, when you say it was rebooting, was it constantly rebooting?

regards

Steve the Jackeen

oh god....your going to have a great laugh here...it starts up in "boot mode"...? in the em...BIOS system...doesnt matter what you do (as advised by Packard/windows etc) it doesnt do anything...im guessing the only way is to reboot from a disc....that disc i dowloaded done shag all!!!
And as im checking stuff out from my own pc...im a bit scared of wat im downloading or saving in case i mess up my pc...no notions as to what they did to the pc...it supposedly happened all by itself!! And...i dont know what they tried to do in between...my mother said it was a display pc down in Currys and she got money off but didnt get anything at all with it

Hi ellen,

can you try the following...

1) Start your computer and hit [F10] ( could be another F Key not sure ) in order to get into the BIOS setup

2) Go to the "System Configuration" tab, then go to "Boot Options" and "Boot Order"

3) You will see a list of devices such as
CD ROM Drive
Network Adapter
USB Floppy
Hard Drive
USB Diskette
USB Hard Drive

4) Make sure that Hard Drive is at the top of the list. If it isnt then you can move it.

5) Save the settings and restart the computer.

regards

Steve
