Problems Taskbar Vista
Hello,

I have problems with my tasbar in Vista and I hope there is someone who know's a solution. I have a brand new laptop and Vista was pre installed. Before this laptop I had two others, also new, which had the same problem. Now I have another brand and still the same problem, so it must be something with Vista.
Here a description of the problems:
-The icons in the taskbar are going trough eachother/disappear.
-The time in the right corner stops.
-The startbutton appears to be vanish white and the incons are all gone, so I can not close in a regular way. Ik have to press control alt delete and then end the explorer proces and give a new task.
I really hope than somebody can help me with this problem. I don't have much knowledge from computers and I am a women, so please give me a simple explanation if that is possible.

Thanks!

Hi chevre,

try the following to find out your version of Vista...

Click Start and click Control Panel.
Click the System and Maintenance option.
Click the System option.

When the window opens you will see some like Windows Vista Home Premium or Windows Vista.....

regards

Steve

Hi chevre,

can you have a read of this... Some Windows Vista functions may not work, or Windows Vista may stop responding and run the sfc /scannow command and tell me if it comes up with anything.

regards

Steve

taskbar
Hello Steve,

I went to the link you gave me and I followed the steps. The scan did 99% and told me there was a file which couldnt be repaired. I tried to follow the next step to know witch file didn't got repair, but it didn't work. There is comming nothing. When I did the step after that, i got a blue command promp screen with a lot of information about moving files and a lot of other stuff. Do you know what to do now?????
Thanks!

Greetz chevre.

Hi chevre,

please can you have a look in the Event Viewer ( Windows Vista Event Viewer ) and tell me what errors appear. The files mentioned on your screen should be in here,

Event viewer
Hello Steve,

Thanks again. I tried to find it, but I didn't. I think I know why. I am from the Netherlands and everything on my computer is in Dutch and not Englisch. I do not know on which name I can look for in all the documents/programms, I think there are to much. Normally I translate it and search for something I think it is, but in this case it is to difficult. Can you descripe the program I must look for, because maybe then I know the Dutch word.

Thanks

Greetz Chevre.
