Windows Vista screen restart?
Can anybody help?

I have a problem with my laptop that when I click on the My Computer icon, the C drive or basically any folder (e.g. my pictures folder) it pauses, the toolbar, desktop icons and anything that is open dissapears leaving only the desktop background and then it all opens back up again before performing normally.

This problem only occurs once and but again if the laptop is turned off an on again.

Also, the C drive icon has suddenly changed to a red cross?! Doesn't look too good?!

Any ideas?

Hi ste_cally,

it looks like you may have a virus or some spyware.

Please visit one or two online virus scanners from this list and see if they find anything... 10 best Free Online Virus and Malware Scanners | TechnoBuzz.net

Get back to us and tell us how you get on,

Hi,

Thanks, I used bitdefender 2008 and it found a trojan in the recycle bin which I deleted successfully and 36 "Trojan.Vundo.DVC" in "C:\ProgramData\Symantec\Shared\QBackup\" (norton failed to find this) but when I chose to delete them or send to quarantine bitdefender said it could not do it and I had to delete the files manually. When I try to delete them manually it still wont let me do it.

And there is also still a red "X" representing the icon of my C drive.

Can anyone help!?

Thanks, ste_cally
