Windows Mail file association for *.doc files
I'm running Vista Premium on a new HP Pavilion a6200n.
When I receive an e-mail in Windows Mail (formerly Outlook Express) that has a *.doc file as an attachment, I cannot open the file. I can open all other types of attachments, but not a *.doc. The message is "file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action."
I go into the control panel and get to file associations, and of course every file that has " doc" in it is correctly associated with Microsoft Office Word. I am using Office 2007.
If I elect to save the file to the desktop, I can click on the icon and it opens up using Word 2007.
But I can't do it from from an e-mail in Windows Mail.
Can someone help me with this?
