IE7 encoding
Each time I open a new Browser Window (IE7) the default encoding is UTF-8
instead of Western-European. The result is that it is almost impossible to
read the text that I type into the Google Search box or forms that display in
Explorer. I have the same issue when I tried Firefox.

Any Ideas how to change the default?

Hi Steve. I allready tried that. It's not working.....
Any other ideas?

I forgot to tell that I have deleted some fonts earlier and tried to restore them just like said in this forum, but no results.

Hi,
I tried that too, but still no results.
I think the problem is with my fonts, because I have the same problem in other programs too. Do you know where I can get the original vista fonts?

Thanks.

Hi trexter711,

to reinstall fonts, i know one way....maybe the hard way. I'm not sure whether doing a Vista Repair will reinstall them?

If you search your Vista Installation Disk for *.TT_ and *.FO_ in the filename.

Then copy these to a folder say c:\newfonts

In a command prompt type leave out the quotes:

"cd c:\newfonts" and press enter

then type "expand -r *.tt_" and press enter

then type "expand -r *.fo_" and press enter

Then all you got to do is copy these back into your fonts folder and say no to any overwriting of fonts. The font folder is normally in c:\windows\fonts

Hope this helps,

regards

Steve
