few hiccups with Vista

Hi.Havent posted in a while but was hoping someone would be able to point me in the right direction to solving a few gliches I'm having(bear with me I'm no techie)
1.Daughter is having mega probs with transferring music onto her MP3.Its a Creative Zen Vision M and previously all she had to do with XP was drag and drop into the device.
Cant do that now for some reason.
2.I'm having to log into some sites every time I vist as for some reason my password wont store....didn't have a problem before.
3.I'm a member of a chat room that needs Java to be able to run....although I have the latest version for some unknow reason I cant log in....again had no problem on XP.

Thats it for now....and there are other issues but I cant think what at the mo.
Hope someone can help and please explain simply because I'm and idiot when it comes to anything technical

Hi Lorraine,

firstly lets try getting the Zen going.
Try this....

C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository

Click next and Windows searches that folder... and finds your drivers... installs them and sorts it all out.

For the Password Problem, try this...

1. Open IE 7 and click "Tools"
2. Click Internet Options
3. Click the "Content" tab
4. Click the button named "Settings" in the Auto Complete section
5. Tick "Forms" "User names and passwords" and "Prompt me to remember passwords"

For the Chat room and Java problem please can you tell me any errors you are getting. Thanks.

Thanks Steve for getting back to me
I've not been able to sort the MP3 as yet as my daughter has it permanently adhered to her and is out with mates at the moment.
Ive done as you've suggested re passwords so I'll let you know if that works after I've rebooted.
With regards to the chat room,,,,I dont get any error message.
I log in as usual and the page starts to load for the chatroom....and that's it...it just continues to have a loading icon forever....doesn't matter how log I leave it....it just doesnt connect.

ok, lets try the following...
1. Uninstall Java
2. Restart your PC
3. Then go to Download Java software from Sun Microsystems and select one of the Windows XP/Vista/2000/2003 editions for download.

If this does not work then you could try Firefox for accessing the Chat Room and see how goes.

I haven't uninstalled and re-installed the java as yet but yes I can access the chat room via Fiefox....strange that
