Hi februarygale,

this is very unusual allright.

Can you tell me what version of the Synaptics Touch Pad Driver you have. We need to rule this out.

You can run RadarSync to tell you if any of the drivers are out of date.

regards

Steve

Hi Steve, I am not sure how to find which driver for my touch pad I have. I ran RadarSync and it came up with a couple of drivers but nothing about the touchpad.

Thanks for your reply

Hi Colin,

what version of Vista do you have?

If you have Aero enabled see if this still happens when Aero is turned off.

To turn off Aero...

Open your control panel and click 'Change the color scheme' then select 'Windows Vista Basic'

See if this has any effect on the minimizing

regards

aero
Thanks for the suggestion. I tried it but sadly no change. The screen keeps minimising whenever I click on anything. Thankfully not every time but maybe every other time. It seems worst in Internet Explorer.

Hi Colin,

ok now lets try and disable Synaptics ability to interact with the Touchpad. This will tell us if it is the Synaptics software....

Can you right-click on the Synaptics icon in the Taskbar, and choose Pointing Device Properties from the menu. On the Device Settings tab you will see Devices in a list. Click on every Device listed here and then click on the Disable button.

Then see how things go,

regards

Steve
