CAC Information
I am trying to work on a Vista computer as in a Common Access Card environment. It is required that the user logs on with a CAC. But administratively it requires us to have a CAC as well. This is easy to disable- boot into safe mode and change the registry setting as follows:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Policies\System\scforceoption -> 0
It would be easier to edit this setting as the local administrator, but Vista will only allow CAC login unless this option is disabled.
What I am asking is this- is there another way of disabling the CAC only admin requirement aside from this? I have to reboot every day now and change this setting as I cannot run Active Directory Users & Computers without the "Run As..." command. Any ideas are much appreciated!
