graphics Driver installation issues
HI!
I am having issues trying to install graphics drivers for my new hardware setup.
::the long and short::
new hardware-

asus ati eah6670 -vidcard
gigabyte GA-A75-D3H socket fm1 -Mobo
AMD A6-3670K with AMD Radeon™ HD 6530D Graphics - APU

I reciently updated my hardware as my old Mobo died.
I kept the HDD and the vista 64 and the sb 5.1 card and dvdrive.
I have installed all the new drivers without problem (from the associated discs) except for the graphics drivers as they will not install (so far but I have faith in vistaheads).

The drivers are needed for the APU (perhaps?!?) as it has inbuilt Radeon HD 6530D and the appropriate Driver has also been D/L by windows update. Cannot install it! even after 'safe mode' uninstallation of previous display drivers.
Also I have the asus ati eah6670 vidcard installed in the pciex16 slot and I get the error (when trying to install the displaydrivers) 800f020b (which I think means that the hardware for the drivers is not being recognised?) It also shows a dilogue box that says 'error. can not find graphics card information' when windows starts.

(I have updated BIOS also - just to be sure)

I just don't get it - the monitor is plugged into the vidcard and I am seeing this as I type it - so surely it *knows* that the vidcard is there? or the monitor attached to it wouldn't work...?
Even when the monitor has been attached to the Mobo rather than the vidcard (and the vidcard removed) I still get the same installation error.

Also - the other part of the error -when trying to install either from DeviceManager or windowsUpdate- states that 'this operation returned b/c the timeout period expired'.
The ATI catalyst install suite also fails to install the display drivers but will install all the other drivers without a problem...

All this kit cost me $500 and I am super keen not to cover it all in kero and ignite it in a fit of rage.

THANKS HEAPS in Advance for all your help!!

Re: graphics Driver installation issues
YAY! Installation complete!

::how::
I ended up having to turn off the firewall and also -while in safe mode- make sure AVG wouldn't load on the reboot (by moving a .dll file to another folder and returning it after the successful installation).

YAY ME!

Have fun Y'All!!
