can't acces installer service
so I have windows vista business with sp2 installed.
after a recent format because of some problems I started installing new programs again.
offcie 2007 fine, visual studio 2008 fine, 2010 fine
all until I got to acrobat reader.
that freezes for a while and if I do anything makes my computer entirely unresponsive when I move my mouse indicator towards the startmenu icon.
if I just don't move then after a while I get the message:
cannot gain acces to windows installers service, this is possibly due to wrong installation etc.
I looked up this problem and found several fixes( though most for xp)
anyway I tried many things now already:
reregister it
dowloaded an merged the register key fix
tried safe mode, tried manually fixing the register,
via services I started installer service( and everytime I restart pc it is off again but even started it makes no difference.
an other fixes I have already forgotten I tried probably( even some for xp that I tried)
I even tried returning my pc to shipping settings with pcrestore but that doesn't seem to complete at all and I just get a popup with in titlebar error and X icon in window, nothing morre.
I don't have the installation cd as my laptop (vostro 1510) came preinstalled with vista and it comes from my school( and schools out for summer so I can't ask the helpdesk there for help.
so please help me or give suggestions as to who can help me for sure since I'm feeling just about ready to throw my laptop against a wall or something.
