Can't install Vista 64x SP1 and I get Error Code 80073715
Hi there, I'm having a bit of problems installing SP1 on my PC.
It has happened a few times before but I have no idea on what actually fixed it. It just finished the download and installed without a problem.
So I get the error code 80073715 and it has only downloaded 6% before it just stops.
I have a Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 2,8 GHz per core, 4 GB RAM and ATI Radeon 4850 512 MB RAM. Motherboard is an P5Q Pro.
The Anti-Virus I use is Avast Home Edition. I have tried to turn it off but nothing happened.
I have googled around a lot and read a lot of threads on the subject but so far nothing good have come from it.
I have tried to manually download it and install it but it gets the same problem.
I have read that I should rename a "SoftwareDistribution" folder but my PC just keeps telling me I don't have the rights. Even though I'm the admin on the PC.
I tried to remove the Read Only tag from all the files but they just get back there in a second after it.
I have downloaded a lot of files from various help pages but most of the time I download the one that should be for my system it claims it's not for my system. Which I find rather weird.
Few have been able to install correctly but no idea what they actually do.
Also does installing all the other updates up to 2009 have something to do with the problem?
As they might have changed it in some way.
This is also after an fresh format too. Overall the other updates goes fine but now and then I get an error but if I reinstall the update alone or with few others it goes fine.
There was also this where I went to sleep mode and it wanted to install 52 updates where as I only downloaded around 10 or so. But when I was back at Windows I still had around 20+ updates left to install.
I have run the sfc/scannow in the cmd prompt but it didn't fix all the files.
I have run a checkdisk twice. Still couldn't install.
So any ideas?
