How do I create my own icon on my desktop?

I want to create my own icon on my desktop for a shortcut to a document we use regularly from word, to get rid or the word icon from the desktop and to put our logo on it. Can anyone tell me how to do this?

Sure right click on the document and select "properties." Then select the button towards the bottom labeled "Change Icon." In here you can either select a new icon, or browse to a picture file and import your own.
