need to close port 67 - UDP, being used by processId 4(SYSTEM)
i have got this weird problem where my port 67 is enabled for process Id 4(SYSTEM process), using UDP protocol. I did some search and came to know that this is used by DHCP server. But my machine only uses DHCP client service. This is causing problems for the private domain(ie my workplace domain), where i remain connected.
Even i am not able to fetch proper IP address from the DHCP server of this domain. Other machines on this domain have ports 137 and 138 working for the same process(ie with id 4 - SYSTEM), using UDP. The ports 137 and 138 do not show up on my machine when I do netstat.
This problem is causing severe headache for me as I have been advised not to connect to the domain until this is resolved. They say, the other machines on the domain, try hitting my machine for fetching IP addresses, not able to find them, the entire network gets stalled.
I need urgent help on this.
Thanks in advance.
