Problems Playing Audio CDs

I am on the point of breaking so I am hoping someone can help me. I have a recently built PC running Windows Vista Business and have a very odd problem. Recently when importing a CD into Itunes 8 the 1st Track of the CD was imported sucessfully then every other imported track from this CD had a running time of 750hrs33mins and 15 seconds, when trying to play the tracks the 1st one played sucessfully then the rest were just skipped over. Then I tried to import another different CD and this yime the CD was imported in about 15 seconds and again the track lengths were over 700hrs long.
I then tried to play a CD in MP11, the Album was recognized by the player as it pulled in the Artwork, album name and all track names and track lengths but on trying to play the CD I received an error "MP11 experienced a problem it was unable to read the CD Drive in digital, please switch to analogue and try again"
I have tried everything I can think of to fix this with no sucess, the only thing I can think left to do is rebuild the PC and I want to try and avoid this if at all possible.
Please can somebody advise me on this, I would be forever greatful.
