AMD cpu 5000 2.6
4.0 gh Corsair Ram

I installed the os on one hdd and was having problems, so i disconnected the drive and installed the os on the other hdd and everything worked fine. i then hooked up the hdd that i disconnected and under disk management i tried to format the drive .
drive C: hdd has the OS that is working fine
drive E: hdd is the drive i want to format and remove the os but windows will not allow me to , since it has system files on it, is there anyway that i could format this drive?

Re: unable to format drive
Wish I could help.
Unfortunately I have a similar problem. Each external data storage device, that works on any other pc running no Windows Vista, needs to be formated by Windows Vista. This is something I don't want. Nevertheless, when I start formatting, Windows Vista always tells me it is not able to format the device...
When I find a solution, I will let you know..

Re: unable to format drive
Because the drive you are trying to format contains system files of a Vista install that may be one of the reasons it will not let you reformat. I have never encountered this problem, however there might be software out there that can help. I know a few ways to correct this problem, however might not be what your looking for or the best.
