outlook 2003 activex controls

When I open some emails I get this messagepops up:

windows internet explorer

one or more activex controls could not be displayed because either:

1. your current security settings prohibit running activex controls on this page, or
2. you have blocked a publisher of one of the controls,

as a result, the page may not display correctly.

The email open up ok. This does not happen on all emails.

Hi,

Came across this as well, bugged me for a while so decided to find out what was causing it. It related to the signature on the e-mail which had been created in Word 2003 SP3 and had smart tags in it. Fixed the problem by editing the signature file, removing smart tags (tools - Autocorrect - smart tags - untick label text with smart tags and click on the remove smart tags button), save the signature. For some reason, smart tags trigger the activex warning in Outlook. Same in IE7 as well - open a signature htm file that contains smart tags, and you get the same warning. Hope this helps.
