If you have a lot of time on your hands, turn on your computer and boot to Vista. Insert your original Vista DVD, then select "Upgrade" from the list, and let the program do the rest. It seems that this has been the only really successful way of getting the Windows Update to work again. A number of people have done this method and say it works. You may have to reinstall sound drivers once it is done.
Probably SP1 might fix but I really don't have a clue... Seems MS just forgot this error
Would like to try B but unfortunately my CD/DVD drive has stopped working too (possibly as part of the same fault) any ideas?
Thanks, texteditor.
