with Bitlocker you can encrypt your entire drive. This means that if your PC or Drive is stolen it is impossible for the person who stole it to put it in another PC and see what is on the drive.

BitLocker is available only in Ultimate. For Vista Edition Comparisions click Microsoft.

No, Bitlocker come in two forms. One is Ultimate as the other reply stated and the other is if you have software assurance. With software assurance on vista, you are now able to download the Vista Enterprise Edition. This Enterprise edition will gives you the ablilty to use the bitlocker.

According to MS there is no Enterprise Edition.

Enterprise is not a retail product, it is only available to companies that have a site license and are members of a Windows domain.

For the home user, ultimate is indeed the only edition with bitlocker.
