How do I change the Notpad Icon ?

Hi,

My name is Michael and I'm semi-computer literate, but Vista throws me for a loop. Does anyone know how to change the Notepad Icon or the backround in a Folder Window ? I'm Legally Blind and I use Notepad alot, but when I open a Folder with a Notepad document in it, it is hard for me to see it [I can see the name only]. That's because the Notepad icon is white as well as the backround in the Folder Window. So it blends in and is hard for me to see. If I could change the color of the backround when I'm using the Aero Theme or chanr the Notepad icon to a different color that I can see on a white backround, that would be great. PLEASE HELP !!
