Processor Patch installation problem

I have a new Sony Vaio Desktop with Vista Business that is advising me to install a patch from the sony website. I can't get the file to save to Temp Internet File( I can't even find where the 'tmp' file is!!!), and if i save it to C: download file it doesn't get recognized. Also, when I am on the Sony website, my "Internet Protected Mode" at the bottom of the screen automatically switches to "off". Do I need this patch does anyone know? Or can you at least help me get to the Temp Internet file folder or address the protection mode issue on Vista? Thanks

please can you create a new folder in your "My Documents" folder called something like cindytmp. Try save the file in here and see if you can see it.

What is the link to the file and I will see if there is anything unusual about the link,

steve, thanks for your response. I again tried to download this file per the Sony support website but still get the error message that it is not a valid WIN/32 aplication! The name of the file is: SOAOTH-A0000000-US.EXE and it is located on the sony support site under driver/software downloads for model VGC-LS31N. Thanks, cindyo

Hi cindyo,

valid WIN/32 aplication seems to indicate the files is corrupt.

Can you see what size the file is?

Can you try and clear your Internet History from the Tools menu in Internet Explorer then try and download the file again.
