Group Policy and WinVista Ultimate 64 Bit
Hi All,
Don't know if this is a "beginners" question or not, but I'm new to the forum and so I'll start here. I am also a fairly new Vista user; having been a very happy XP user for some time. Realizing that I needed to get current at some point, I recently upgraded after I built a new machine. As always, my timing stinks; as I probably should have waited for Windows 7, but that is another story. Anyway...
I was wondering if there are local Group Policy settings in Windows Vista Ultimate (64 Bit)? I just got laid off from a job where just one of my duties was to administer a 2 server, 16 user, 32 drop network. I took it from NT4 to Win2k to Win2003 to Win2008 and got very familiar with Group Policy on the servers, but never on the desktops. As far as I know from my reading in the past, there are local (desktop) GP settings that can be modified. Is that not correct?
I have searched my machine for the GPMC and cannot find anything close to it. If GP exists on the desktop, can someone point me to it or to a download that I might need in order to run the GPMC?
I am running Windows Vista Ultimate 64 Bit with 2 GB of memory on an Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q8200 @ 2.33 GHz. Fairly new GIGABYTE motherboard. I appreciate any help that the forum can provide.
