Windows fails to boot
Recently I had been having some problems with my computer (it decided that I didn't have speakers, it wasn't always restarting from sleep mode successfully, etc.) I finally got fed up with it and started looking for solutions.
I ran windows repair and it wasn't working, so I figured out I needed to save all my files and reinstall windows.
I tried to reinstall windows, but it failed, because it said some old files were currupt. So I reformatted the drive and reinstalled again, and again it didn't work. (it never got to the part where it should ask about the product code or set up or anything. After it said completing installation for about 3 hours the screen wold just go black.)
I ran the repair, and it spat out error code 0146. I looked that up and it said that my hard drive was failing and to get a new one. I bought a new one and installed it. Now when I run diagnostics, it can't find any errors, and when I ran start up repair it ran for 13 hours and didn't finish, but also didn't find anything. Still, windows won't finish the installation (although the diagnostics listed a windows OS) and it won't boot. I don't know what to do to make it work, and I really don't want to spend a lot of money going to a professional, especially since I'm not sure they can fix it.
Does anyone know what's wrong or how to fix it?
