sidebar gadgets

Hello all
This is my first posting.
I hope I don't say the wrong thing on this first attempt.
My problem is that the sidebar has disappeared completely from my computer in spite of putting in a search. I am running widows vista home premium. Any advice would be much appreciated.

click on the START orb, and type sidebar in the box right above the orb that says Start Search in it...then click on the Sidebar Properties line that comes up and fix your settings.
