vista language

I have a desktop purchased in Japan. Which English version of vista do i need to purchase to install on the machine that currently has the japanese version pre installed and is it simply a matter of running the instalation disk.
Amazon seem to have no end of different products and I am confused.
I understand the japanese version cannot be changed to run in English
