Unknown AV Program
My computer is taking a long time to load my desktop after the Welcome screen [up to 3 mins]. During this time my screen is blank and the hard drive seems to be in overdrive. I thought an anti virus programs was doing a scan at start-up, but this is not the case of my known AV programs.[Windows Defender and Avast Pro] The Security Centre under Malware Protection shows a pgm "PC Control\TermSrvApi" is "up to date and virus scanning is on"
From my limited experience, I cannot identify this pgm, and suspect it may be malicious. Google searches offer no assistance'
Can anyone please help?
Problem solved. By deleting Avast Pro the unknown pgm has disappeared & boot time normalised. I think PC Control\TermSrvApi is associated with Avast & was doing a scan each time my computer was booted.
My thanks to all persons who may have given my problem some thought
