password authentication error

Hi, Vistaheads! I am a new member and a newbie as well.

My husbands laptop has the following error: "This computer system, #XXXXXXXXX is protected by a password authentication system. You cannot access the data on this computer without the correct password". He has his password written down, and it does not work. We have tried every variation. Without being able to boot up the laptop, I can't create a recovery disk. My laptop is up & operational. Can I create a recovery disk for his laptop? Or should we just use the system recovery disk & start over? Help!

I have same problem wit Windows XP. I installed PostgresSQL 8.4, OpenERP 5.0.12: OpenERP Server, OpenERP Client and OpenERP Web. Result is same: 'Authentication error ! Bad Username or Password !' appears when I try to log in with OpenERP Client or with OpenERP Web
