Outlook search index erases on reboot
Hi guys.
I'm not sure if this belongs in a Vista forum.... it might be a problem with Vista or a problem with Outlook, I'm not sure.
I'm using Outlook 2007 and am having trouble with the instant search feature. Searches are not finding everything and it gives me the message that "Search results may be incomplete because items are still being indexed".
It appears to be indexing properly. I can keep my eye on the remaining items throughout the day and it decreases. The problem is when I come into work the next day, it seems like it started all over! It never finishes indexing.
After a little more testing I discovered that restarting the computer may be the cause. I was down to 67,000 items remaining, then I restarted my computer to test, and then it was back to 110,000 items remaining!
The computers in my office are shut down nightly, and it takes pretty much all day for the indexing to catch up, which means that this pretty much makes the instant search feature impossible to use.
Can anyone think of a way to fix this?
I'm using Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit
and Microsoft Outlook 2007
Any ideas / help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks so much!
