IE Unable to Display Page but Firefox Works

Hello,
Whenever I try to open in Internet Explorer on my desktop PC, I get the Unable to Display Page, but Firefox works fine.
I ran Network Diagnostics and found IE Web Proxy127.0.0.1 Failed.
The Diagnostic Log says: IP Layer Diagnostic Corrupted IP routing table, but the default route is valid.

None of this makes sense to me.
My network is fine because IE runs fine on my latop, but on my desktop PC Internet Explorer displays the Unable to Display Page so I can't go to any websites! However, when I switch my browser to Firefox everything works fine and I can go to other websites!

Why is IE not working?

A friend of mine said that my hi-def transmission depended upon exactly how powerful my digital cable tv signal was. I've got a comcast cable television deal that bundles my broadband internet and digital cable with HD channels as a group. My picture appears awesome, i don't feel it could be much better. But does anybody know if there is any reality to what my pal stated.
