Unable to install new apps -- Java, iTunes, opera, . . .

Hi,

I've been having a problem with installing anything that uses the msi installer. All the installations fail with an error indicating the file cannot be read from my appdata folder. I have tried running the installation files as administrator, but that hasn't helped either. Also, when I check the attributes of my appdata folder, it is read-only even though I've removed it, and UAC is turned on. I'm thinking this is the root of the problem but I don't know how to fix it so I can install my apps without any further issues. Can someone help, PLEASE!
